Alaska earthquake THREAT: US city Kodiak evacuated as tsunami looms: 'This is NOT a drill' A buoy has also recorded a wave of 10-metres (32ft) just northeast of the epicentre of the Alaska earthquake. Kodiak Police Department issued this chilling warning on Twitter. It said: "Hello Kodiak, Sergeant Beaver here. I just want to remind everybody this is not a drill. This is an actual tsunami warning.
